Different programs...different colors

Does anyone have a suggestions as to why the colors in CS3 and other software programs vary in hue? For example, Something deep blue in Paint Shop Pro Photo X2 and Photofiltre looks more like purple in CS3 on my monitor. Is there a setting in CS3 that I can fine tune so all three programs generate the same or very similar hue?

yes - in photoshops colour settings you can specify which display and output profiles to use - all three programs should be the same really.

Photoshop is a colour managed program and Photofiltre isn't. That would account for the colour differences that you see. My guess is that Paint Shop Pro isn't colour managed either. Photoshop is probably showing you the colour you should see.

There are three colours, Ten digits and seven notes, its what we do with them that’s important. Ruth Ross

Thanks. I'm glad to know which program is more in tune with reality. :0)
