just wondering

i've been looking at my caedes control page. i never new that by clicking on the tops of the columns one could rearrange things. so i rearranged the number of votes so that those getting the lower number of votes were at the top and those being voted on were at the bottom. what i'm wondering about is why some got 8 votes and some got 18. since they were archived with so few votes can i take them away, work on them and then resubmit. i think some are pretty good. (it's possible. no probable, no certain that i'm not completely objective.)

Jeenie, please note section 2e under the Code of Conduct. It is strongly discouraged to re-upload an image with a minimum of rework on it to see if it gets higher C-Index. Note that under section 2e it states that a reworked image should expect to receive better critique.
The reason for the disparity in votes might have to do with an image being placed in the 'your community' gallery shortly after being uploaded or being archived.

Hope this helps.

A related question...as you know, Mimi, at one time images that didn't make it to the permanent galleries were not archived but removed entirely by image mods after a certain period of time...would the same rule about not reposting old images still apply to these older images if they were not sufficiently reworked?...I'm just thinking that since those days we've had an influx of new members who will never get to see some really nice work done by some of the 'older' members.

Hey Jen,

Have to wonder which images you are referring to?

Maybe you could copy and paste the URL, or web address from your internet browser to provide an example or two?

Don't worry about the linking stuff ... the web address is sufficient ... it will look something like this:

ie. "go cards!" - http://www.caedes.net/Zephir.cgi?lib=Caedes::Infopage&image=jeenie11-1232328267.jpg

Insofar as some of your images not receiving an equitable share of votes before being archived ... are you referring to those images of yours that now reside in the "Your Community" gallery?

'Cause as Mimi points out above, in those situations ... yes, your image will receive some votes ... however, if determined or deemed to be more suitable for the "Your Community" gallery ... votes accumulated and voting on those images is arrested once the image is moved to that gallery. More or less, 'archived', for lack of a better term.

@Pat..

I believe the same section of the Code of Conduct would apply Pat. Reposting of an image without significant rework is strongly discouraged...regardless of the cause for removal of the image.

Hope this helps! :o)

Then it would appear the images have been archived Jen. At which point, the images in question are taken out of the voting booth.
