This is the first time I have been in since getting my new computer in Dec. I always go for a photo cause that is what I like. But what is there a bar at the top of the photo.I am downloading the right one for my resolution...If it is going to be on everything I won't get any more.

GrandmaJan: How nice that one of the things you wish to do is get a picture from this site for your new computer. I like to do that also. Did you get just a new computer or did you get a new larger screen also? I suppose you got that new Vista where settings are just a little bit different than old Windows. Did you set your screen settings to stretch the picture, to center it or tile it on your screen? You didnt leave much details for a helpful solution. The Artists who post here have control over the pictures they create, they have no control on how the picture is used. My guess is to go back to Desktop Background (you get there by right clicking on your wallpaper), and after selecting your favorite photo, the screen will change and at the bottom of the page, you will be asked to select if you wish to stretch the photo to fit your screen, to be centered in actual size or to tile. You may have downloaded a photo intended for wide format. If that happened, then it is likely that there would be a color bar at the top and bottom of your screen. If you like the picture then you can change the background color to compliment the image you selected. A little more detail please on the type of bar, size of your screen and the size you downloaded would be of big help.
