Does anyone know just how many times a Memory Card can be ReFormatted, and does it lose image quality over time by reformatting ?

When you get all the photos copied from your memory card to your computer, format the card.

Formatting the card permanently clears it of all information.

This ensures that you're starting with a clean card when you take more photos with your camera.

While you can just delete the images on the card (without reformatting) this can sometimes leave residual information on the card that increases the chance of memory card failure.

Formatting is the sure-fire way to ensure that your cards work perfectly all the time.

Memory card have 3yr warrentys on some, personaly I reformat every time I remove my photos from the card. sort of like replacing a roll of film..I rather not have left overs on the card

Thanks Steve and I was already well aware of Most of what you said. I reformat also after each Upload.

My Question is Number of Reformats and does a Card Lose some Intregity as to the Quality of Images it captures say after 200-300 formats.

No. You aren't going to lose any quality. Eventually your card could potentially die, but formating it does not speed that process up.

That's the answer I was looking For.
I've shot over 22k images and formatted this card at least 300 times. Still works Fine. It's a 4 GB Compact Flash Sandisk ExTREME DUCATI EDITION.
