Can someone help me with this issue? I need to know how to get this effect on my photos. I have removed the people in the shot. This is not my photograph. Just would like to know how to get this effect? Anyone know how??
Holly, my suggestion would be to contact the person who did the image that you referred to and ask how they did the effect.
Sorry I can't be of more help. :)
Looking at the photo (in not much detail), a black paintbrush was used to paint over the people. Thiswould be one of multiple ways of achieving this outcome in Photoshop.
I actually took out the figures my self. I was just wondering how to acheive the overall effect of the sky and the grassy area. It seems to be over saturated and gloomy but intense looking. I want to know how to get this overall effect in my photos.
Hi Holly, This effect can be created in many ways - the image may well have had a lot of postwork done in Photoshop (there are many tools to enable you to creative atmospheric changes to your photograph) or a similar program. You can get very intense over-saturated results by using an HDR (High Dynamic Range) program - there are free downloadable programs.
This link will give you information about HDR and links to free software.

Hollie - that Mrs Patti Fogz has good advise, her words are coated with truthdom and written with wisdom, but her mind must be slipping. I am sure that if she had remembered, she no doubt would have told you to also go to the tutorial section just above your community, on the top left of this page. The page is just chock full of wonders, PhilcUK has a good tutorial on how to fake a HDR. NMSMITH will explain on how to make your jewls glow. And there is so much more. Give it a try, you will breathe a sigh of relief when you discover all the options to create any effect you wish. Hollie, you are going to think Im teasing you when I say...its all FREE! You will surely think you have hit the tutorial jackpot, but we all know the jackpot will be shared by all, when you dazzle us with the desired effect in your new post. :)

Note: Once you have the dialogue window(s) open for Duo, Tri- or Quad Toning ... you can adjust the individual 'curves' of the colours/tones, as per usual 'curve' adjustments.
Hi Holly, I believe that Nigel's thread in the 'Desktop Wallpaper' forum, Photoshop-aholic , may be of interest to you as well. Several members have shared their Photoshop post processing techniques.
Thanks Holly
