Just a thought I had the other day. I have seen some images posted lately that are in the "sports" nature. IE....golf, baseball....etc. Was wondering what the possibilities were to having an addition to the category listing as one named Sports to cover these type of images.
I am a golf fan...love to play (not any good) but have seen and taken some interesting images on the course....the same goes for baseball and football. Just hard to find the right category sometimes and I believe a Sports category would cover alot of these images.
Just an idea......sits and ponders.

Paul, this was brought up a while back. If memory serves correctly, most sports pics are, or would be taken of copyrighted games, venues etc. yeah, I know..no joy in Muddville :o|

Please, even if you don't visit my gallery, check out my "Faves".I've left them intact since day "1", and would like it if every image there got the attention they deserved.

I see where you are coming from with this....but what about images of people playing on golf courses....kids playing baseball or anything of that nature....Would this be considered copyright material?
I know that you can't post of games or players or logos and things like that....Just wondering about simple items pertaining to sports.

Paul, you are correct in assuming that kids playing ball would not fall under any copyright laws!!
Many images of kid's playing baseball would possibly be considered snapshots and when uploading an image, we check a box stating that our image is in compliance with the CoC.
The CoC states that "pointless snapshots are not encouraged and may be rejected".
That being said and not seeing any image that you refer to, a snapshot would probably be archived.
Hope this helps you :-)

It does MiMi..but without giving anything away...would an image with a golf ball on the edge of a cup about to fall in...or a ball in a glove laying on a field of green be considered still life then?

IMO that would be considered still life..but remember Paul, that is just me....lol
As you know, a lot has to do with how it is photographed/presented. :)

I think Paul's statement was just one in general. I don't think he is speaking of a particular photo. I too would like a Sports gallery but I currently use photo or action or people. I think Paul was just trying to get it more specific.

Thanks...that helps clear some things up....Still alot of questions, like what is the thin line between copyright, snapshot or art but I'm not going to waste your time with it.
Thanks again for the answers.
