cinquains

Okay, okay, I'm a copycat. I saw the haiku thread and I remembered I had a couple cinquains I'd written that I liked and thought, fine, I'll start another one. I for one don't care how many you post at once, I'd read them.

For those who don't know, a cinquain is a form of poetry that goes like this:

1 word: a subject
2words: describing/relating to above word
3words: describing/relating to first word
4words: describing/relating to first word
1word: renaming--another word for it

They don't really flow that well, but . . . it's an established form of poetry.

here go mine:

cat
green glances
lightly she meows
silky black, pearly white
Autumn

nintendo
zoned out
fingers go numb
technology blessedly dulls senses
otherworld

I like yours Elizabeth... I can relate to both... 'specially Nintendo, many a summer day wasted away infront of the tiny GBA screen that would be otherwise used to complain about bordom and lack of anything else to do.

I believe in the sun even though it is slow in rising. I believe in you without realizing. I believe in rain though there are no clouds in the sky. I believe in truth even though people lie. I believe in peace though sometimes I am violent. I believe in God even though he is silent. --Unknown

heeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeey neat! I never expected much response! I love all your poetry. Thank you for contributing!

Yes, 'Licia, of course I would!

wcladymacbeth:
first one: that is sooooooooo me
second one: I'm in college but can't relate.
reasons
#1: i'm only 19.
#2. I take meds that I can't have alcohol with.
#3. I wouldn't want to drink anyway. I'm confused enough of the time w/out voluntarily killing brain cells.
third one: only relate in a non-experience I-see-it-from-the-outside sort of way . . .

Sam: I Love It!
So Beautiful . . .
So True . . .
So good at justifying my impulse to axe my pc to sparking smoking shreds . . .

And hey Steph, I know what you mean about 'many a summer day wasted away infront of the tiny GBA screen that would be otherwise used to complain about bordom and lack of anything else to do'. Nintendo & junk food was all my brother and I did the summer after our dad died . . . maybe why we love it so much. We spent most of or all of the time on SNES Zelda . . . and still didn't beat it! It's now 7and a half yrs later, and still haven't! Talk about a hard game . . . though college kind of threw a wrench in the works . . . for both of us
