Just got here and had 2 subscriptions it says, so I go to see who had what to say, and both images are gone. I didn't delete them. One was 'Magnolia farm' that I posted last week, the other was 'Eclipse in my mind' that I made some time back. Not sure what could have happened or who to contact, so posting here. Any ideas?

It's important to understand that if the site allows the posting of "found" images then it impugns the integrity of all images on the site ..

it is anticipated of first-time posters to post an image they think is "cool" that they found somewhere because so many sites on the net allow that, encourage it even .. but established members are expected to understand the whys and wherefores of the rules in place

Caedes.net requires acknowledgment AND links to stock sources .. it's one of the things that sets this place apart from the rest

I have had my own images vaporize for these very same rules

Yes, the Magnolia farm pic was from the Rumsey site, I took some screenshots of it and put them together because that farm is near where I live, and is owned by a friend of mine. I wanted to make him a version of it because I'm sure he has never seen it. Maybe I'm wrong, but I think that and most of Rumsey's maps are from public records, but I admit I never checked it out, I was too excited at seeing something I grew up near. If it is a problem, then deleting it is fine by me, it was just an after thought to post it here anyway, and admittedly my fault for not noting the original.

Not that it is an excuse, but I have never been able to get a link to work on this site is another reason for my negligence, how about making that a little easier to do?

The Eclipse manip was made by me, except for the moon in the manip, which came from an email photo that I have no idea of the origin. I have some moon brushes that I could use, but cut out that moon because of the coloring and reality. That eclipse was such a common site all over the internet at that time that I didn't consider using it to be a problem, but if you do, then I can make one using one of my brushes and color it accordingly.

Sorry for taking liberties, but I can't imagine who or why anyone would care in either case, but I can understand if you feel they do not belong. This is something I do for fun and relaxation, I don't sell them, nor do I intend to harm anyone. My bad for not using better judgement, I'm old enough to know the rules.

If you are old enough, then read the CoC and stop to use internets rips, even with some manipulations. This site is for your own creations. Public images are accepted, with the credit of the author.
End!

Linking to an individual image

you can practice making links in any text post you've made .. just "EDIT it and try your hand at linking .. perhaps on your "profile page"

If you have any questions .. just ask at the bottom of that linking page
