Just a quick one, can someone please tell me what size my image should be when uploaded so when people view it wil be full screen. At the moment when its highlighted dark blue it only shows in half the screen and the next size is to big for the screen. Thanks in advance!

well, peoples screens are differing sizes, of course ... chance are good your browser is 'stretching' the image .. so, the width is being accommodated and the height is being sacrificed .. in a widescreen format image .. the width is significantly larger than the height ..and the height is being made to look smaller than it is .. due to the browser resizing the image

click your mouse on the image after (or during) the load and see if maybe it is then shown FULL SIZE

Start of the End @ markvc1

I just loaded the image "Start of the End" using firefox

the window opens to my screen width .. and the image is larger than my screen, but I can scroll to the right and display more

so my browser is not scrunching the image smaller .. but I've seen it do it in other circumstances

But how come some peoples fit perfect and others don't surely its down to the image size not the browser.

I believe this is true, but I could be way off: The different "views" Caedes.net automatically sets when you visit an image is different depending upon your monitor size. I believe if you and me went to the same image page (assuming we have different monitor sizes) the options to choose from will be different. The site automatically determines what resolution to resize the image.

To say its the browser I don't think is technically correct, it just depends upon people's monitor size I believe. That doesn't really answer your question, mark...but I think that's how the site works. Hopefully somebody can confirm that.

if you click the thumbnail, the site will try and give you the size "closest" to your monitor rez .. but, if the image is widescreen (ie: 1920x1200), it is not going to give you a 1600x1200 image if that is your monitor rez .. it will, likely, give you 1600x1024 .. because, to do anything else, would require cropping or delivering an "out of aspect" image

I believe the site tries to round down the uploaded size to ratios that are common although, admittedly, they speak in foreign tongues ... if you click the dimensions underneath, the largest being the size posted, then you get that size

`·.¸¸.·´´``··._.·`·.¸¸.·´´``··._.·`·.¸¸.·´´``··._.·`·.¸¸.·´´``··._.·

Stephen (bean) from the above link the dimensions on display are

809x548 1092x739 1474x998 1989x1347 2685x1818

my monitor rez = 1920x1080

Mark .. tell us your screen resolution, browser, and give a better example of what you mean by "some peoples fit perfect and others don't" ... use, if you can, your image linked above

the, others, using the same browser\screen size might chime in with their experience

Perhaps you have a zoom feature enabled. When I have a page zoomed in Firefox and click on the thumbnail to open the image the image window is zoomed also and thus the image does not fit.
My 2cents.

1280x1024, firefox or explorer makes no difference. What I mean is it is always either to small or to big. The dimensions which are bold have always been a smaller picture so the height x width of the image must make a difference.

well .. still not sure I can answer your question to your liking .. I think the short version is:

since the lifting of size restraints a couple years ago, people are uploading the largest size they can, regardless of whether that size is a proper ratio for screen display .. be that a widescreen (16:10, 16:9) .. or a 'regular' fullscreen (4:3)
