Weird pains

Lately I have been experiencing odd pains, starting with the knees and going to the neck, balls of my feet, back, and arms. The pain is all the same in all areas, where it feels like if I bend too far in any direction, something is being pulled on and it hurts like there's no tomorrow. My knees are the only problem right now, as they hurt every day and the other places have only hurt for a few minutes and only once. Just wondering if any of you have ever had this problem before and what you did. I don't want to worry my parents with having to pay for doctor visits and it would kill me to have to stop dancing because of the pain.

=/ That's no good... I hate to be the person to preach to you =P but I think it could maybe be sleep. I had almost the same problem. I do Cross Country and Football in the same season and I'm doing track soon. Saturday mornings are hell when I don't get a good night's sleep for the cross country meets. It'll give you pains from the tip of your hair to the tip of your toe if you don't sleep... and i hate that because i HATE going to sleep... it's like... you're missing sooo much... someone could be dying... soeone could have just won the lottery! and youre not awake for it! Anyways... If youve got a bunch of sleep I dunt know what it could be. Would Artheritis or Fibromialga (may be spelt wrong) maybe be the case? Really, don't take my advice seriously, for your own sake... ive been known to misleed. But either way I hope that you come around to feeling better =)

Thanks, it may be lack of sleep but I'm doubting it since I usually get at least 7 hours of sleep every night. It is a strange pain because I was just be sitting there in class and when I nodded my head, all of a sudden my neck just starts hurting really bad like there is a string being pulled too tight if I go forward, back, or side to side too far. Just a twinge, but enough so I want to sit there with my hands holding my head so I won't move it. With my foot, I got out of bed one morning and I took one step and it felt like I had ripped open the ball of the foot! Anyways, doubt its arthritis since I am only 13 but thanks for the advice. Maybe I should go to sleep soon... *yawns*

Does it feel like your joints hurt, or does it feel more like your muscles? If it's your joints, go to the doctor. Rheumatoid arthritis can start at an early age.
It could also be growing pains. You're at the right age to be going through puberty. I didn't experience whole-body pain during puberty, but that doesn't mean it doesn't happen.
I'm not a doctor or anything, but I'm studying to be one. Whatever it is, though, don't worry yourself about it too much until you know what's going on. :-)

Any pain that persists should be looked at properly. Till then, a smart thing to do is to make a "diary" of the pain - locations, description, and intensity (ie rate it out of ten). Then if it persists and you see a doctor, they have more acurate and informative descriptions.

Thanks everyone, the pains are in the joints, but I haven't had any in the past 12 hours so I'm thinking if I ice my knee and take some ibuprofen it might go away. If not I will go see a doctor. Thanks for your advice!

perhaps before telling your parents and doctor, you could talk to your coach/dance instructor?
