We'd like some input from members about a get together for Caedesians to have fun and get some Autumn photos the weekend of Oct. 10 and 11. Everyone is invited, but we still need suggestions on where to meet. The Bershires of Western Mass. were suggested or Southern Vermont. We want to be central enough for some of the NY people to join us too. Looking forward to your input so we can look for hotel locations and rates. Thanks. Cindy

Lots of beauty around the Lake Champlain area on either the NY side or near Shelburne or Burlington, VT and lots of places to go. On the NY side, you can catch the ferry in Essex. And there's an international airport in Burlington if anyone wants to come from across the pond.

Sounds like a great idea. I wish I could be there but I have my doubts. I will keep checking.

Oct. 10th is my Birthday! I would love to go outside of N.Y. but theres still many places I found over the weekend in the Catskills. I want to check out Buttermilk Falls in Ithaca but that could be a trip for most of you. If I can make it, I'd be glad to show up anywhere in the region.

I am looking forward to the get together wherever it happens to be.The scenery is great in the places mentioned here.I am partial to Vermont with the Green mountains however.An overnight at a Vermont inn high in the mountains will get me up at the crack of dawn for a photo opp without a doubt.

I have to cast my vote with Tom... Vermont has a special place in my soul and I haven't been there in ages. Very few things will get me up early but Vermont is one of them...

Well, it seems that VT is going to become the likely place. Does anyone have any particular part of VT in mind? I know Alexis mentioned Burlington, which is way up near the Canadian border. I just got a book called Off the Beaten Path in VT, so maybe I can glean some ideas out of there. Meantime, suggestions are still very much welcomed and please pass on the info to anyone you think might be interested in joining us.

Been looking into VT places and Rutland, VT has a few things to recommend it. Just started looking, but it's right near the Green mountains, there's a couple of waterfalls nearby and also a place called Wilson castle that looks interesting. Also, Woodstock, VT looks like it might be a good spot.

That's My Birthday weekend too, well I'm on the 13th. I think it's a wonderful idea to get together. I just hope that it is close enough for me to go. I will be looking forward to find out what you all decide to go. I love the idea of Woodstock, or somewhere with falls. North VT would would be a hike for me, I think it's about a 10 hour drive. I will take a look and see what I can find too.

Vermonts fall comes alot sooner than Massachusetts, it will be almost over by October. This is the area I live in. Southern Vermont near Brattleboro or Manchester would still be beautiful and there are some gorgeous inns and beds and breakfasts there. Book early.

Yes, Jonathan, we are still getting together, though it will be a small group, but we had a small gathering in DC in '08 and everyone there had a wonderful time. Thanks for asking. Hope we do come away from our great weekend with "lots" of beautiful shots of Vermont and Autumn color. ;0)

As one of the small group, I know we'll have a great time. Was in Manchester, VT (about 1/2 hr from Bennington) this afternoon and the color was gorgeous. It should be just about peak by next weekend.
