How about making an application that changes your computers background image to one from caedes every day like an image of the day thing.

Actually, your computer already has that capability. Well, sort of, anyway. If you download a number of caedes images to a separate folder on your computer, and set the screen saver to 'slide show', simply have the pics in the slide show come from the one filder containing the downloads...and Voila!

Please, even if you don't visit my gallery, check out my "Faves".I've left them intact since day "1", and would like it if every image there got the attention they deserved.

Not the same thing,
I mean have a static link that is a changing image (ie: www.caedes.net/Zephir.cgi?lib=direct). That way I can create an .htm file on my computer to auto load whatever picture is on it at that time and have it my background. That way instead of going through every 3 minutes to find a new background it will just load automatically when I turn on my comp and SURPRISE new desktop.

One of the ideas with caedes is to share feedback/knowledge, provide encouragement, vote on other members images and generally create a community. The problem with having random images downloaded automatically to your desktop is that it cuts all of that sort of thing out. So while I imagine it would be relatively simple to program I don't beleive it is the sort of thing caedes wants for tge site... I recall some time ago someone suggested that they be able to download images in a zip file but this was declined for tge same sort of reasons.

I remember using desktops which are not normally 'me'... e.g. a military picture! (Can you imagine, GI Tootles?) It made me feel different every time I caught sight of the computer, and it wasn't a bad feeling at all.

I think it's quite an interesting idea... literally not knowing what might be on the desktop when you turn it on in the morning. One of the things about the Caedes.net site is a certain randomness, such as in the voting booth, or in the random wallpaper sort-through... it's a way of opening our eyes to something new.
