Macros without a Macro Lens

Today, I discovered how to do this at... shhh... Flicker! Someone there mentioned that he had simply removed his 50mm lens, reversed it and then held it in place. I tried the technique this afternoon; it works! I will be posting an example using this method later this week... I also found out that I must use a tripod (and didn't have one with me!) Try it out if you hadn't heard of this before now.

Its not really a secret :) you can get lense adapters to reverse your camera lense for most digital DSLR cameras, for use as a macro, an very low priced.

Yes, Moose! You are right and so is Steve. Steve says the adapter is low priced... Jerry says he got one for $7.00... so the price is indeed low! I must, like Jerry, experiment.

Thank-you both! And the fact that adapters are available screams to me that this 'trick' has been around for some time.

@Moose ... how to link:

This is what the link to that discussion thread would look like, save for that of the two asterisks that appear:

<*a href="http://www.caedes.net/Zephir.cgi?lib=Board::Topic&id=2539283">Reverse Mounting Adapter</a*>

Remove them, leaving no space in their place ... and you have a proper link:

"Reverse Mounting Adapter"

General HTML code for a link?

Is, as follows:

<*a href="Copy and Paste the URL or web address here">Name the link as you wish, single word, phrase ... for example</a*>

Again, remember to remove the asterisks ... and ... done. :o)

Thanks Les. I will practice because I am sure I will forget just as soon as I do it. :) Moose
