Voting

On my new image 'Wounded' I have had 42 views, 30 downloads, but only 5 votes!
This is pretty poor, are people not taking the time to vote?

Is there anyway to get people to vote more often? Such as not giving the links for them to download the image untill they have voted? I'm not sure if its possbile, but please could the makers consider this?

Thankyou everyone!

This topic has been discussed a lot previously. The general conclusion was not to force people to vote on images. That will only cause them to rate images poorly and isn't a real measure of how good the image is. There was a measure where you had to vote for 1 out of 5 (if I remember correctly) images you downloaded, but I think Caedes disabled that.

It also doesn't really work to force a vote particularly before the image can be downloaded, because it is important to view images full screen before you can really vote on them. The large thumbnail just doesn't get the job done except to show what the picture is of. Maybe a simpler alternative would be to provide an additional (relatively meaningless) number like karma that indicates the total number of votes cast, since people seem to be proud of having high numbers by their names :). I still think there should be a way to encourage full screen viewing before casting votes though. That's just always been my two cents.

P.S. I'll go check out that image and cast my vote now raz~

well, with the limit, you can still see the full size, but there was a big warning text box on the full size image
also keep in mind that alot of those viewers are not members of the site, at the moment there are 133 members online, and 84 guests online. The guests of course can not vote.
Another thing that was brought up before about forced voting, is mindful voting. Forced voters would just vote to get their quota in. The 5 votes you have are thought out and meaningful.
