As in, provide some more information as to what exactly is or is not, occurring.

There is an option to reset your password, if that is what has transpired. Reply back here, to this thread ... and some instructions to follow can be suggested.
And on the above note, with respect to your newly created account "Vangough51" ... it would appear that your email has changed compared to the one published on the profile page of your old account/username; namely that of "vangoughs".

As I noticed that you successfully uploaded two images last night, it would appear that you were able to login just prior to the creation of this thread (I think). So ...
Something happened after the fact.
Just what that is ... not sure.

And are you employing some sort of automatic settings/browser feature/option to recall/store/fillout your login information?

Firefox and I checked my settings and remember passwords for sites is checked.You are right,I downloaded two images fine
and later returned to check any comments and my stored username
and password were not there.As a dummy I could not remember my
password so had to reset everything.Doing this I have lost access to my gallery and friends.Thanks so much for your help!!

You'll need to try to login to your old account. If you give the wrong password, you will get a link that will allow you to reset the password. It does this by sending an email to your email account that is listed on the old account. Following the instructions in the email will reset the password and give you access to the old account.

What does that mean???I tried logging in with my old user name and did a password reset. It says it is C43G0fE but it did not work.

If anyone inadvertently inputs an incorrect password for their account ... or forgets ... a screen will show up ... stating 'bad uername or incorrect password'.
And just beside that is a link that you can click on, that of 'reset password'.
Clicking on the link, shows a screen with this message:
"An email has been sent to the registered email address for vangoughs to verify your identity. Please follow the email's instructions to reset your password."
As I have not myself done this, I am guessing that by prompting the server to reset your password ... you must come up with a new one, not revert back to the old password.
Take a breath, Doug ... and try the reset option once more, following the instructions that are sent to you by email.
However ...
DO NOT flood the server with repeated reset requests.
Typically, this is NOT a good good idea. As it is simply a security precaution to avoid bots, and ne'er do wells ... at successive attempts to 'crack' your username and respective password.
Perhaps wait a few minutes, then try once more. As a suggestion. :o)
