I got an email form a new member wanting to use my images.

Here is the message in question.

Personal message from koteeka [ 12/12/09 23:56 ]:

Hi, SatCom, I looked through your gallery of pictures, and I would like to post a few of them on a site that I have joined with your permission of course...:)With the credit that they ARE yours of course...My name is Fenya and the site is http://www.desktopnexus.com/ if you would like to check it out...Please let me know you answer...:)

Anybody got he same message and I have seen the website and cannot find anywhere where you can give credit to the author (Unless I am missing something).

Any help here?

koteeka joined two days ago, and apparently doesn't like any images on DN enough to ask permission to post them HERE

If you think having your images posted there will bring you fame and riches ... create your own acct and post, that way you retain better control\credit\deletion

thank them for their interest and monitor the site .. there is a forum, so you can, maybe, get a feel for the copyright attitude of it members

EDIT: .. judging by the Eva Habermann images on the front page .. they don't care about copyright ... 'cuz I'd be high-5'ing the guy who landed THAT shoot

I think the individual who is asking permission is genuine in her efforts to do the right thing, but if the site is rife with other people who are not so concerned about copyright (as Keifers research suggests) they might distribute your work without asking.

Just an fyi, I too got this message from her. She was very polite and answered all of my questions. In the end, I did not grant permission, mainly because of the reputation of the site which has repeatedly been mentioned on the threads in the Discussion Board.
