i have a problem with my machine. I tried win7 and i had installed counter-strike 1.6 non-steam. It runs with black screen but i can hear the music and the button menu. I've updated the vid card driver, GMA X3100, but the problem is still happening. I've googled the problem and tried everything possible but nothing works. It can ,however, run on previous version of windows. Can anyone help me?

Yes. i use XP and Vista before on the same machine. Both os can run cstrike flawlessly.
It's ok. I've finally figured it out. I set the command line to D3D. I think Win7 RC does not support Opengl because the default renderer is Opengl so that's why the screen doesnt show up.

Maybe try this . I see there is also a patch available.

Windows 7 has DirectX 11,there is a DirectX update for Windows 7,it will install DirectX 9 and DirectX 10 components,you might give it a try,the update can be found here:

Your internet connection must be enabled when you use this DirectX update.

Why are you using the RC? The final version supports OpenGL.

I use RC because its the only Windows 7 version i have..-_-
