I would recommend checking with your public library and see if it's "in the system" for any titles you might find interesting, or perhaps flipping through one in your local bookstore .... saving actual purchase for those judged worthy after the fact

I personally use my library. It works well and the price is definitely right! :o)

If they don't have the book I want, they 'borrow' it from another county library for me!

Very rarely are they unable to fulfill my request!

Bet there's some gems in there. One photog I just discovered recently is Sabastiao Salgado, a photojournalist who works in B/W. He's worth looking up...
