Hey all.
A friend of mine has an Olympus E500 and is looking to buy a macro lens and a wide angle lens but is on a tight budget so I was wondering if anyone had any ideas, tips or second hand lenses for sale.
Cheers :)
The cheapest option would be their wide-angle kit lens. It has a little-known shooting distance of 9" (or actually slightly closer). At ~ 100 USD for a refurb, it's a steal. At the wide end it opens to 14mm. On a 4/3's camera that equals a 28mm in film. Not superior, but very capable indeed. Look, or have your friend look, on websites of more reputable photo shops. This way you avoid or at least should avoid, any bogus copies without the protection of return/exchange.
Also, the Oly 70-300 has a (very) surprising macro ratio of 1:2. A refurb goes for ~250 USD.
Please, even if you don't visit my gallery, check out my "Faves".I've left them intact since day "1", and would like it if every image there got the attention they deserved.
