We will have a dinner at the hotel on Saturday night (;providing they can accommodate us!), so the sooner you commit, the quicker I can get us reservations and a private room!
Friday we can go to the Zoo (free admittance and nationally noted) and on Saturday, we will be going to our beautiful Botanical Gardens where there will be something for everyone to enjoy and admire. Sunday for those who are still here, we have a tropical butterfly conservatory that is pretty neat and photo-ops abound!
Of course, we also have the Arch for those who are not faint of heart...the tram goes up sideways to the top, which is a mere 630 feet high!
We are a 5 hour drive from Kansas City and Chicago and Nashville...4 hours from Memphis and 8 hours form Knoxville. 7 hours from Cincinnati and 8 hours from Des Moines!
Airport code is STL....airport is Lambert.....
Anything else you need or need to know, I will be to happy to answer or to call you, just notify me via PM!

What a great idea, it's been awhile since there has been a get together. I would like to go, but just not sure yet. I do have some family commitments. Thanks Mimi, for the pm telling me about it. =^..^=sandi
I'm thinking it would be fun if everyone stayed at one hotel to keep the party going. I think Mimi said the Pear Tree Inn might be the best of the 3 listed.

Let's settle on one of the places (maybe the Pear Tree Inn?) and then see how many they would need to give us a group rate? We'll commit to coming - my husband and I. Hilda

I would love to come, but don't know if that's a good time for me. I'll have to let you know after I chat with my husband.
We're treating our whole family to a 2 week holiday in Florida and Western Caribbean Cruise. That's our sons family and daughters also. So don't know if it will work.

Those who are coming for the Missouri gathering, please let me know via PM or on this thread by April 15 so I can get our dinner plans on Saturday night taken care of.......thanks!
I would love to be there ... I was holding off a bit, but as it looks now I will be having new puppies born around that same weekend. Ties be down quite a bit ... so hopefully a different time. Sounds like it will be a fun time.
Okey-dokey..we are about 6 weeks out from the awesome Missouri gathering.......I am going to make dinner reservations so I need a count of Caedesians et al that are attending.

Mimi ... you told me that you had gotten this dry-cleaned? :o|
How can I be expected to provide good good quality roars in this thing??
... ...
Well, I guess this is better than last year when you made me play the part of a penguin. Still haven't quite gotten over the ostracization by the colony for doing those cannonballs into the water.
Sheesh ... those penguins, no fun ... lemme tell ya ...

Your in luck. I have been gone for 4 days on a shoot and couldn't respond to this right away. That means I have had time to cool down, strictly temporary you understand. (Puts shotgun down but keeps it close by her side...very...very close)

Have to excuse the runs in the stockings. Those disposable razors ain't all that they are made out to be ... I ran out of Nair, unfortunately, after a recent experiment of sorts.
... ...
No, I cannot talk about the 'experiment'. Due to an ongoing court case between me and the defendants; the manufacturers of said product.
However, I can divulge that due to this litigious action on my part, the affixed warning label and notes will provide some interesting reading material ... for an evening. Give or take.

Randy, not enough for us to block rooms..the link for the hotel is at the top of this thread....if there are no rooms there, we will handle it...not a problem.
Restaurant is still being considered. We are at approx one dozen right now :o)
Anyone else? Jump onboard...we are going to have some fun!
If there aren't enough rooms there and people are staying somewhere else, let me know and I'll change our res. Didn't really want a smoking room. Thanks for organizing this, Mimi!

I wish more people would say if they're coming and stayin'...I really need a room for Saturday nite and haven't booked one yet. I'd kinda like to stay where I may know someone else, ya know...not really know, yet not totally by yourself. I'm thinkin' STL Union Station looks pretty sweet...whadda you say Hilda and anyone else??
The wife & I are driving up Friday for the zoo and then drivin' back to JC. I plan to drive back up Saturday (by myself) for MBG as well as dinner and stay the nite. Then perhaps the Butterfly House Sunday morning and then I'd head home.
Rumor has it Les is treatin' ALL to supper Saturday nite...can I get clarification on that?? Mmmmmm...surf 'n' turf!!
I'd like us all to be at the same place. I went ahead and changed to Union Station Marriott - we got a gov't. rate of 110 since my husband is a teacher. They said we can book more than one room at that rate so if anyone is interested, let me know. We can't get there til late Friday night and will have to leave on Sunday sometime - definitely want to do the butterfly house!

OK, Miss Mimi,
I am really having a time with reservations so here is what I am about to do. Before I do it, I would like your input. Union Station Marriott is too expensive for me ($169 a pop). I have checked motels out by the Zoo/Botanical gardens and the Holiday Inn-Forest park located right in between those two locations is suitable for me ($93) dollars a night. I think I will jump on that. What is your opinion? Pat
Friday: St. Louis Zoo........10:30AM and the Arch (if anyone is interested let me know.)
Saturday: Missouri Botanical Gardens......10:30AM
Sunday: Butterfly House.......10:30AM
Saturday Dinner will be at Gio’s Restaurant located in the Gateway One Building, 701 Market Street. As of right now, we have a private room reserved. The only reason anyone else would be with us is in the case of ‘overflow’ for the restaurant.
The rest of the info is available from me...simply PM or ask here...we would love to have you! The more the merrier :-)

OK....anyone who wants to join us, we are dining Friday night at the hotel restaurant @ 7PM. It is called the Station Grill. We can relocate (if we chose) after dinner to the Grand Hall Lounge.
We are staying at the hotel Friday night since our beloved Cardinals have a home game and parking will be tough and traffic as well, so I decided to keep it simple. :)
Reservations are in the same name as our Saturday night dinner.
Only one week and a few hours to go and we will all be together!!! Can't wait to see everybody :=)
If anyone else wants to join in, it's never too late!!!
Just holler!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
***I will do a pick up on Friday at the front entrance of the hotel for anyone who would like me to chauffer them to the Zoo......it will save each car $11.00 & navigating the construction. I can drive up to 6 additional people. Please let me know if you will be standing curbside waiting for me! *wink*

The wife & I will meet all at the zoo. What time we meeting? I was planning on being there about 10:00 a.m. I think that's what time they open. Mimi has my cell # to use for hookin' up...anyone else that's coming and would like it feel free to PM me and I'll give it to you.
If it is raining and/or threatening nasty rain on Friday which our local weather just forecasted a few minutes ago (but they really don't know!!!!), we will go to the Butterfly House on Friday and the Zoo on Sunday.
Randy, we will meet in the South parking lot. Is that OK w/ you?

The St Louis forecast shows A.M. rain for tomorrow, but shows it to taper off between 10:00 A.M. and 11:00 A.M. so it sounds like we're gonna get lucky!!
Our dinner plans for Friday have changed.....we are going to a neat, small restaurant that has yummy food. No one has to drive...Hubby & I are chauffeuring..if too many for our car, one of us will ride along....everything is cool!

We had such a wonderful time! I'm sure Caedesians are the best people in the world. And for all of you who couldn't make it - be sure and try next time! I now know how to pronounce Caedes!
I agree with Jojo - it was great to meet everyone.
Special thanks to Mimi for organizing such a wonderful weekend!

Cindy, good to see your post above. How are you anyway? Write me a PM if you feel up to it. As for the get together, those of you who didn't make it missed out on a great time. I had a ball and got to meet some great people. Mimi did a bang up job of putting this together. And talk about some good chow, Mimi's husband Rick knew where all the good places were. We had some good restaurants, I'm telling ya. Hopefully, we will do this again next year and more will be able to attend. I'm not home yet. I'm laid over in Senatobia, MS and will get on home tomorrow. See ya. Owd Momma
I am sure there will be a couple of images posted. Several are not home yet due to travel/mini vacations and everyone is tired from all the great fun, laughs and excursions we had over the 3 day period!
As promised, we are going to have a photo shoot/Cadesian gathering in the "Show-Me" State :o)
Dates are; May 21, 22, 23, 2010.
Hotel:
St. Louis Union Station-Marriott
