I think it would be nice to have a thread to post if someone is not feeling well, or wants to make a general announcement to their friends.

I received a message from Caruso (Braces) today that he is suffering from Sciatica and will not be commenting or posting as much for a while. He wanted me to spread the word, hence this thread.

Maybe there is already one to accomplish the same thing, but if not please post your bulletin board material here.

I just became aware of this bulletin board. I have not been participating a lot recently, have some ups and downs. My twin sister, Kay, passed away from a stroke on June 25. We are 72 years old. She had MS but dealt with it in such a positive way that it did not intrude on her living a happy life. Her husband was a strong source of support, as we all were. I was able to visit her in NH last October, so that was a blessing. But, gosh, this is a difficult process. I am thankful that her positive outlook focused on the good things in life.

I received this email from Skates (Pat-Icedancer) and thought everyone would like to know. She has always been the best to remember our birthday's and also offer a word of encouragement.
I have included her in my prayers.

"Just got out of the hospital, was in for 7 days with a bad bacterial in my blood, which can be very dangerous. I have been on very heavy antibiotics and I have in-home care because I am still on antibiotics through my IV PicLine. The nurse comes in every day and puts on a new bag of antibiotics. I have to bear this big fanny pack with the pump and meds. I have to wear this fanny pack 24 hours a day. This will go on for another 2 weeks, then I'm on oral antibiotics for 4 more weeks.

They took imaging of my heart and everything with I think it was called Electrocardiogram and with the Pik-Line it had to be do by a quick surgery and the little IV line goes directly into my heart. Of course they also do the Covid test and thank good I was Negative, hurray.

I tire very easily but just my time doing normal things. Jack gave me a nickname Fanny Pack Pat, lol"

I got this email (one of two, quite similar, emails) from Sandi:

"Hello Mr. C.
Kathy and I are concerned about you, I hope your absence from caedes is not because of health issues, you are missed!
Your friend Sandi (tigs)"

My reply was:

"Dear friend Sandi,

Thanks for your emails. I really appreciate the concern expressed in these mails from both Kathy and you.
However, I wish your hopes were true, but unfortunately that's not the case.

On July 1-st, my health deteriorated dramatically. I was suddenly suffering from a terrible pain and was unable to do anything. When the pain was unbearable for me, I called in the help of a Medical Doctor. I was then given morphine-like medication.
The next day I was extensively examined in the hospital (imaging-, blood-, physical-examination, etc.) and it turned out that my suspicion was correct. The chronic stage of my Lyme disease was the culprit. Lyme disease comes in many forms. One of these is severe osteoarthritis of the spine and hips.
Because it's not actually about osteoarthritis, I've learned now that this is called 'the differential osteoarthritis diagnosis for Lyme disease'. Now 24 days later the pain is less and I try to regain some mobility with medication and physiotherapy. However, in this stage of the disease, Lyme will never go away for me anymore. I've to try to find the balance between disability and mobility. I hope that in time I can resume my Caedes activities in a limited way. Now it isn't still the case. Going outdoors for photo shoots is my wish, but I doubt I'll ever reach that goal again. The future will tell me this.

I still have some photographs in stock (mainly my Ghent-series), but the research for a well-documented narrative is still too strenuous and time-consuming for me, so be patient. Obviously I've other priorities now.
I'm so sorry, but it's - unfortunately - the reality.

Warm regards, of course also to Kathy and the other Caedes friends from

Cornelius"

Mr. C - know that you are missed by all your friends here and that would be anyone who has ever had the pleasure of seeing one of your photos or received gracious comments from you. I have a friend with serious Lyme disease and he is also having problems now - his Covid vaccination did not work for him due to medications he takes for the Lyme disease. His doctor ordered Covid antibody tests and it showed he developed no antibodies from the vaccination. He must still follow all the early Covid protocols including masks etc. You will stay in my thoughts Mr. C.

Just popped in briefly today and was very sorry to hear this news about PatAndre. I believe I last had a message from her about 1 1/2 to 2 years ago, at which time things seemed to be going reasonably well with her, so I'm very saddened to learn of her passing. She was a treasure and will be greatly missed. I hope others, like myself, can take some solace in knowing that she had a strong belief in God and Jesus Christ as her Savior. RIP Pat.

I had posted awhile back that our friend bfrank was taking a break from Caedes to help his wife who had hip surgery, which in turn she got an infection.

I have tried to reach out to him a few times and he did respond with this message.

Hello Sandi. My wife has hospice working with her now. She responds very little. She's in a hospital bed and I change and feed her. That is why I haven't checked in here at Caedes. I just don't have much time and get pretty exhausted. I hope all is well with everyone. Tell everyone I said hello. He told me in an earlier message that she also had a stroke.

I hope you will join me in wishing him strength and faith during this time.
