There is no set time. If the image is good then it will get promoted in a few week's time. Otherwise it could sit around for quite a while before getting deleted. Currently we are not deleting many images from the new images gallery.
Caedes, are we to take your first comment to mean that anything in our galleries longer than a few weeks we should just go ahead and clear out? I ask without ill-will. I've always self-cleaned. Just have been rather unsure since the sweep. Thanks.
There really should be some sort of time frame. Just at twelve a page there are 341 pages now. If the stats are to be beliveved there have been over 5 thousand people here today, most of those will be casual wallpaper surfers and a gallery that large is intimidating. There could be a gallery like lonely images for those about to fall off, Sort of a last chance gallery. Can you measure how many hits you get from say page 60 out?
Back to Catch-22 applies to me personally as far as my own questioning of what to delete and what not to delete and your response leaving it back up to me. Images I thought might make it haven't and images I didn't feel would have a chance have had the special privilege. I accept your answer and accept that I'm back to winging it with decisions. No problem.
I would assume they are still in the dark recesses of the New Images gallery, but I have a few images that, in my opinion, fit the snapshot policy, yet people appear to like them moderately. On the other hand, I am personally proud of others that I felt would “favorably reflect my talent/skills as an artist”, mainly referring to two images that I feel never received partial attention, yet now I am the only one who still has them (“Somber” and “Gaze on the Window”).
Am I pretending to be an “artist”? Did I upload them at the wrong time? If they weren’t any good, I just wish someone would say so instead of not vote.
