Im so happy! I got a Canon EOS Rebel G (film, but better than a point n' shoot!)
I cant wait to upload images from it.
Unfortunatly i have a bad scanner... =(
Good for you Tony welcome to the salubrious SLR club. Can’t wait to see some results from it. You can ask the lab to provide scans when you get the film developed. It costs a little more but might be better than your bad scanner.
I think cd's cost a slight amount extra, but they aren't the best resolution. According to Will, super high resolution scans are available, but they cost a good percentage of what your camera did.
Go for the neg scanner. I have a friend who uses his Nikon film system with a neg scanner and can get resolutions of nearly 20 megs. It's an expensive piece of equipment, but scanning positives really dilutes the image and defeats the whole idea.
That's right Tony, they will give you a CD with scans of all your pics. (for a price) However a good negative scanner is the way to go if the budget can stand the strain.
I have a wonderful HP scanner..does negative scanning too . I've gotten some awesome prints from old old negs and great pics of old beat up photos..Its a great scanner..HP Scanjet4470c............take a look at one of them..
alot of the newer flatbeds come backlit and are able scan negatives and slides without the use of an extra piece of equiptment. its neg scanner is a good purchase and no longer pricey, when you ask for a cd of your prints from the lab all you are getting is the results from their own backlit scanners.
I cant wait to upload images from it.
