Upload boo-boos

Hi, this was my error, but I have a question. Today I tried to upload an image. Twice I had the size wrong. Then, when I tried to upload the right one it told me I had already uploaded my two for the day?? Which I guess is true, but....?
I've not really submitted anything to ooh and ahh over as of yet and I remove images that obviously no one cares for as quickly as possible. Sometimes they look worse once I get them here. ;-0. I was also wondering if that might count towards opening up for another upload without having to wait? I realize you don't need to be overloaded with awful pics and new user errors so please accept this as merely asking not criticizing the way things are done here. I'm most appreciative of the site.
Thirdly, I was wondering if there is a way to show when we've last uploaded a pic? Til then, I'll try to log it. Thank you.

I agree. I had a similar problem with one of my pics, and had to delete and upload it again, after having to wait 24 hours! LOL I don't know how difficult it would be to implement, but perhaps if you delete a pic you can upload one again? This is also just a suggestion, and not a major problem at all.

I also think showing when we last uploaded an image, or perhaps a clock showing how long we have before we can upload again, is a great idea! It at least would take away the frustration of uploading a pic and getting an error, just because you are a minute too early. With dial-up, this is REALLY frustrating... believe me. ;-)

All are good ideas and easily implemented. I just have to make sure that I remember these great ideas when I'm at home programming for the site. =) If you want to make sure the suggestion doesn't get lost you can go to the dev site dev.caedes.net and put the suggestion on the discussion board there. Thanks a bunch all.

Or why not be able to upload a new version when you click on the "edit" link on each of your pictures.. the only problem is that you'd probably want it to be re-evaluated by an imagemod before it's accepted

The reason I've not done that feature yet is that it would be a real pain to program and the gain would be minimal as compared to some of the other features that we have in the works. I always implement the easy features first. ;-)

Doesn't sound too hard.. delete the global record (in the backend, a SQL database, whatever you use), use the existing name/desc, and pass the arguments, along with the new picture, to the function that handles new entries. You probably wouldn't want the new picture to have the old comments/ratings, or be in the same gallery, so the system works.. Depending on how you've got it layed out, you might only have to call two existing functions: one to delete, one to resubmit.. :P

Except that what you're describing is almost the exact same as just deleting the old images an uploading a new one.

Exactly. You don't want the votes from the original picture to remain for the new one, because people may feel differently about it after it has changed. Really, the only thing (I think) it should do is evade the two uploads per day limit..

I've reprogrammed the upload script to not count images that you've recently deleted. So it should now work exactly like you describe.

What's this? Who's been uploading Boo-boos? I didn't think this was that type of site...
