Familiarize, or re-familiarize yourselves with The Caedes.net Code of Conduct:

"1. General

a. Citizens shall endeavor to make caedes.net a better place (or at least not worse).

b. All comments should be mature and courteous. Any comments not in adherence to the NTV* code will be moderated or deleted.

c. The user's profile information and username should adhere to the NTV* code.

d. Critiques of people's work should be constructive and if possible informative and supportive. If you don't like something, say so and then tell how it could be improved.

e. Offtopic discussions should only be in the offtopic discussion forum. Not on people's uploaded images.

f. Unnecessarily abusive, hateful, or troll comments will be deleted.

g. Each user may only register one username for regular use. Changing usernames is fine, but you shouldn't regularly skip between two or more names.

2. Images

a. Only upload images which you have full intellectual property or fair use rights to or which are in the public domain.

b. Public domain images (such as from NASA) should state the source of the images in the image description.

c. Image content should be in adherence to the NTV* code.

d. Unacceptable subject matter for images such as pornography, nudity, gratuitous wildlife copulation, registered trademarks, copyrighted material, screenshots of games, frames from a movie or television show, and pointless snapshots are not encouraged and may be rejected.

e. Once an image has been uploaded to the site it should not be uploaded again unless substantial changes have been made to it. These changes should be enough so that it could be reasonably assumed that the resulting changed image would receive a better critique than the previous version.

f. Voting on images should be based on each image's quality and not the image's author. Regularly up-voting a specific user's images will not be tolerated.

*NTV code: Only content that would be ok on network television is acceptable. (network television in the US, not Denmark!)

Also that which you agree to, when uploading/posting images. Found on/in:

"Image Upload - Step #1"

"The Fine Print

Images uploaded via this form will appear in the caedes.net 'new images' gallery. Only images which are your own original work should be submitted. Any images in violation of the Caedes.net Code of Conduct will be deleted. Please upload the largest possible version of the image (but under 3200 pixels in width and height), we will create the smaller versions automatically. You will have complete control to edit or delete your uploaded images.

Most images will stay in the "new images" gallery for at least one month. After one month the image will be evaluated for inclusion in the permanent collection. Any images not chosen for the permanent collection will be "archived" (removed from the main galleries but still available in your personal gallery). We reserve the right to reject or delete any uploaded image at any time.

By uploading an image you affirm that the image cannot be claimed as intellectual property by any third party. If the uploaded image is found to violate any third party's property the image will be promptly removed. Caedes.net and it's maintainers assume no responsibility for the material contributed by caedes.net members (including commentary and image content)."

There seems to be an acceptance by some to upload an image, delete it ... upload it again ... delete it ... and so on.

Not cool, people.

** CHECK YOUR WORK BEFORE YOU UPLOAD **

And on the same note, there is a cost attached to doing so in these instances. That of Bandwidth. Let alone the expenditures of time to correct mis-categorizations, send PMs, time to go through the voting booth, comments placed, etc. ... etc..

Your image ... your responsibility.

Right, Happy Easter. :o)

I especially liked the **CHECK YOUR WORK BEFORE YOU UPLOAD** How times have you gone to comment on a friends picture only to find it removed. Or worse, you did comment, and later you find a revised version waiting for new comment!! Errrrrg! lol.

And by re-uploading an image with little change ... adds to the potential malaise (on the part of the voters) that some times enters into the voting booth equation ... on a couple of fronts. If, the image in question makes it that far.

Thank you Les for the reminder. I especially like the "check your work before you upload" also. Most of the time I try to review the CoC once a year. I think that comes from habit when I worked in the healthcare field reviewing & signing off on policies on a yearly basis.
