Well, this is not exactly new news ... as the announcement and releases came out this passed April 12th, 2010.
However, new stuff ... Adobe launches Photoshop CS5 (photographers and print designers) and CS5 Extended (Video professionals, Cross-media designers, Web designers and Interactive designers).
"Adobe launches Photoshop CS5 and CS5 Extended
Adobe announces Photoshop CS5 and CS5 Extended software, now offering native 64-bit support on Mac and Windows. The Image Intelligence behind Content-Aware Fill removes any image detail or object, examines surroundings and seamlessly fills in the space left behind. Lighting, tone and noise of the surrounding area match perfectly, and new Refine Edge makes nearly-impossible image selections possible. For photographers, Photoshop CS5 now offers next-generation high dynamic range (HDR) capabilities."
I'm personally holding off till CS207. Pretty sure by that version it will have baking capabilities built-in and supported.
That silliness aside, I did watch the brief videos on some of the features in the above link.
Notably, "Content-Aware Fill" (impressive), "Complex Selections (hair, foliage, etc. ... pretty impressive) and "Superior HDR Imaging" (not as impressive, at least in the vid ... still, and with that said ... sure looked quick and easy on the post processing front).
"There is always something waiting at the end of the road ... if you're not willing to see what it is ... you probably shouldn't be out there in the first place."
