As soon as i get a chance in my shop, Graphic communications, I'm going to start posting pictures i've taken with my camera. So i was wondering what resolution should i set the picture to be, and also does the size of the document matter either.

At least 300 hundred DPI. Yes the size matters!

Art is the perception of the creator. Meaning is the perception of the viewer. acceptance is the perception of society.

If you're talking about posting to caedes.net, this info is from the FAQ linked at the left:
"What size images can I upload?
The server will accept images at the following pixel widths and heights: 640x480, 800x600, 1024x768, 1152x864, 1280x1024, 1600x1200. We chose these sizes because they are the most commonly supported resolutions on current video card and monitors."

The DPI (or PPI) of an on-screen image does not really matter. A 1.6" by 1.2" image at 1000dpi is, for the purposes of the site, the same as a 16" by 12" image at 100dpi, or, for that matter, a 160" by 120" image at 10dpi. If you were talking about printing, that's entirely different, and 300dpi is what's considered approximately "photo quality".
