i was wondering, is caedes on any specific time zone, because all the times posted online correspond to Pacific time zone, but i know that there are many people here and that's probably not the case for them. i was wondering if anyone knows if caedes has the time stamps on all the comments generated from some script from the abyss that detects the current user's time zone and adjusts for each person? just wonderding, i won't be able to sleep untill i find out!

I think the timestamp depends on the timezone the member is in. Well I guess I'll see in a second!

Hmmm well it is about 5:00 here so the timestamp is one hour behind for me. That doesn't really help much does it??

Well I just changed my timzone to +16 instead of +15, so now the time on your post says 5:00. So I guess the question you want the answer to is +16 hours compared to where?? I do remember seeing the answer to that somewhere on caedes, probably in this forum, but I can't remember what it was.

Probably the easiest thing would be just to keep changing it in your profile until the time on caedes was the same as the time wherever you are, if that makes sense.

"question you want the answer to is +16 hours compared to where?"
Recently caedes explained that:
"The timezones are not set relative to GMT. They are relative to US central time. When I coded it I didn't feel like having to worry about the timezones. You just have to pick a timezone number which results in the correct time getting displayed".

You can find yourself on this map and figure out what your setting should be. Remember that if you're in an area that uses daylight savings time, you may be off by an hour.

Also note that PMs come with the sender's time/date and formatting, that is, it's not converted to your local time.

When you change the timezone in the "edit profile" page it displays the current time so that you can see if it is set correctly.

Sam, Brisbane is in the +10 area on that map. When you adjust by the fact that US Central is -6, you get the 16 you need.
