Today I posted a photo of the front end of my friends Triumph motor bike, I spent a good while editing the photo, only to be told it was being held back by the image mods, why ? is it because it says 'Triumph ' on the front of the bike, is it because of the brand name ? I have photos in my gallery as others do of Harley Davidson's, with the HD logo on them, we see cars with names on, Trains, all sorts of names on great machines, this one I just cant figure out and I want an answer from an image mod please.

Well it's sure prominent on lots of photos on this site, like I said, Harley Davidsons for one, we see adverts on the side of trucks and such, well that's just done it for me, this site is becoming a joke, I'm off from now on, and my yearly subs will no longer be, that was a great photo and I know people would have liked it, I sent it to Triumph and they thought it was great . . . . so, so not happy.
Mark.
PS: If you have the time to look at my other post on the bike, when you download it, you can see 'Triumph ' all over the petrol tank, so why wasnt that one took off ???
It seems there's been a mistake Mark, perhaps a mod could properly explain the situation for you. It would be a shame to see you leave the site your work is so good, & you will be missed.
At times I've been told I could not have a photo of a storefront at the beach! I was told by a very good mod, that there 'are' mods that go overboard. So maybe its time they mods are reevaluated by mr caedes himself? Double standards are most likely coming from one particular person, and not that all the mods would agree on it. There are some very fine ones here as we all know. It has boggled my mind often too. And I agree, there are many many logos, and actually, it is just good advertisement for those anyway. Mark, please don't leave the site for this. I will tell you something someone told me years ago "Are YOU going to allow them the satisfaction of knowing they made you feel bad?!!!"
DONT allow that. You are a good person, a good photographer, please just stand up, straight and tall, and be here because YOU want to be and enjoy it. Dont let anyone make you feel this bad. It will work out, I know it will. Verena
"Your Image has been temporarily placed in limbo while the moderators discuss if it is allowable under the CoC. As soon as we come to a consensus, you will be informed. Thank you in advance for your understanding and patience in this matter."
"There is always something waiting at the end of the road ... if you're not willing to see what it is ... you probably shouldn't be out there in the first place."
I found it with the 'deleted' status.
Maybe I'm wrong, but when the mods don't agree an image, the place it into 'rejected' when it is against the CoC or into 'limbo' when they are not really sure.
I restored it. Link
Oh I am so glad that Pierre restored your photo. I know he has been here a long time, and he has helped me so much. Please, Mark, stay ok? I know it was a battle, and you had every right to say something here, but please, now, stay and let us all enjoy your photos even more! Many hugs to you. Verena.
To clarify: Images that are deemed to have a copyrighted logo as their main feature are not permitted under the COC. In this case Geri made the decision that although there was a logo which featured prominently in the image, it was not the main focus and therefore the image does not contravene the COC.
I do think that the notification sent in this case was quite appropriate. Obviously the COC is an important part of the running of the site and I do think members need to be a bit more patient and understanding when it comes to these sorts of things (think how you feel when your image is discovered ripped on another site for example... we don't want that sort of thing happening here do we??)
Mark, congrats on hearing from the people from the motorbike company at Triumph! How wonderful they liked your photo!! I really trust Geri, he really takes good care of things here. He runs a pretty darn good "shop". And I'm proud of you, that you checked things out and in turn they went well for you, and for the photo. We all learn thru these things. Verena.
