Yesterday when the 'doors' contest still had some time to run the ‘enter the contest’ link disappeared and did not allow me to put a photograph into the contest. I am not too worried about it being there, but maybe the system needs to be checked to ensure that the link remains there.

I have not been posting recently so thought maybe my brain was befuddled and I had forgotten how to post haha! However, I did go to Contests under Navigation, which is where I thought I should go and it showed 2 hours to go and no ‘enter the contest’ link and an hour later 1 hour to go and still no link, sometime inbetween this I posted my photo in a regular category, then changed it to the current contest category (which I know is not the correct place to post) and sent a message to ask an administrator to ask them to move it for me, but alas it is now too late …ahhh well not to worry! – it is nice to be around again, but maybe something needs to happen to ensure the link remains until the last minute and also it would be good to know if the different timezones affect the cut-off time for posting entries.

I can't answer your main question but I can tell you that under the new system mods are unable to enter other members images into a contest.

I am also reasonably sure that the cutoff is not effected by what time zone you are in (ie it is based on GMT or similar).

'Cause my initial thoughts were that the link ('enter the contest') was not showing up for you ... due to the fact that your image/photo might have been in the approval queue and had not yet been approved.

Referencing the time frame/window that you were logged on after posting/uploading, or even afterwards and had checked back at some point.

Not that of the time left to enter the contest, to be clear.



Seems to me that this is a bug of sorts. To my mind, as long as an image has been posted/uploaded while there was time left to do so for a contest ... that said image is still eligible for submission.

It just might necessitate the member coming back after posting/uploading ... then, once it has in fact been approved ... submitting it at this later point in time.
