i don't know about you all, but i have a stressful job and use photography as a stress reliever!!!! (the sad novice that i am :) i enjoy seeing all the beautiful pictures. . . however. . . . . sometimes after a wild and crazy workday, i need to laugh. why is there not a "humorous photos" section??? i've seen several pics that would qualify and frankly . . . . . "laughter is the best medicine"!!!!! i just loved "surprised" by eubeen -- that deer would fit nicely in a humor file -- not to mention piper ("they're mailing me WHERE??"). there could be a "humorous animal photos" section. . . . . a "humorous baby/kid photos" section. . . etc. so what are everyone's thots on this???? and pretty please caedes owners. . . may we have such a section???
thanx for listening. . . . charlene
I love that. I've often wondered the same thing. They tend to get dropped in 'manipulation' a lot. Paul Gerritsen has several, ksshutterbug has one I especially like. A couple of the computer creations have a humerous or biting edge. Cats vs dogs, close encounters of a fourth kind to name a couple.
Humor, as an image category, was suggested a while back (I'm guessing it's been btwn a year or two). At the time, it had been turned down for two reasons if memory serves correctly (not always).
The first, was an insufficient number of qualifying images. The second, was that it might attract sub-wallpaper quality images... more of a snapshot quality. At the time, I don't think the "Your Community" galleries were in place yet. Now that they are, my guess is that a fair amount of 'humor' shots might wind up there, as opposed to the 'regular' galleries.
thanx for the comments; i just reviewed the "your community" section. . . . . would still like a "humor" section. i understand the "quality" issues (aren't all images judged prior to permanent gallery placement?). . . and realize it would be a small section . . . for awhile :) everyones' lives are so busy and chaotic -- stressful. . . . just thot a little humor might be nice!!! you know. . . some fun photos to get our minds off the economy, work . . .
