I found a very nice winter image and I was wondering whould it be possable to make it so that instead of being in color it would be black and green.

if anyone knew how to do this with photoshop 7 then that would be great!

What color is it now?? I think it would be much easier to answer this question if you uploaded the image (or if it isn't yours, maybe you could link to it)...

Changing a color image into a black and green is very easy. You might want to write down these steps so you do not have to toggle back and fothe to read instructions and then perform the step. Here goes:
1 After your image is on the screen, Click on image (on the tool bar). Then a drop down box appears. Click on Mode and then Grayscale.
A message will appear asking if you want to get rid of the color? Click yes. You now have a black & white image. NOTE; Up to this point there are many ways to get a black & white image, I am doing this an easy way assuming that you are not to experienced with Photoshop.
2. Click on image again. This time click on dotone from the drop down page,

This will open the duotonre options box. It looks scary bu it isn't it is easy just follow along with me. !:0)
At the top left hand corner of the page you will see a box that says monotone in it. Click on it and change it to read duotone.
The first line of the four bars will havea black box in it. LEAVE IT ALONE.
If you clicked on duotone correctly the second bar sholud have a wlite square unde the black one. Double click i the white box.
This will take you to the custom colors page. Scroll up or down the color bar until you find he color green that you are looking for, When you find it click on it. A squae in the center of the page should change color in the upper half of the box. This is the color that you selected. If you are happy with it click OK. This will take you back to the Duotone options box. Click OK and it will close all of the boxes and you will be looking at your Black & Greem jmage. You will have to adjust the brightness and contrast to finalize the image but that is all tht is to it.
Easy? You bet. After I Post this I will look to see it you have an e-mail address listed. If you do I will sned you a sample of something that is green & Balck
Enjoy the toy and let me know how you did.

...or you could just add a 'black and green' gradation layer on top of your image^^

another way, probably worse than both is to creat a fill layer with the colour you want and then set it to 'color' then you can adjust the hue/brightness of the fill to set the image. its probably not a very good way, but i find a great way of getting rid of chromatic abberation, or haloing is to create a blank layer ontop with the mode 'saturation' then simply paint in black around the areas that are red, magneta's, and cyans that shouldnt be and you can easily go back, and adjust it selectively for different parts of the image

no, gradation layer is completely different than adding a whole new layer set to blending colour.
