"'Constructive Criticism - What to do with it.

1) Consider it. What WOULD happen if you followed the advice?

2) Try it out if you can. Get a good visual look at the difference it would make.'

This is such good advice and I am sure it is often followed, but we never get to see the results.

We have do have a 'Rework' gallery - specifically for reworks done by other artists.

A section for self done reworks I think would be very useful - where we could display our new versions and also give credit to those who made suggestions. At present there is nowhere to do this and we can not resubmit images unless major changes are made which alter the image considerably. Sometimes it is just a small adjustment or change that tips the balance from an average effort to something much more worthwhile.

Also folk would be more inclined to make suggestions if they had the opportunity to see the results. Everyone would benefit, the original artist, the advisor and those who observe."

I agree!

Easy to set up as "Rework->Self".

However it would be difficult to prevent abuse by those who simply want to upload multiple images...

Maybe if one Rework posting took the place of X regular postings? Or a limit on the number of reworks you could post? I have no idea how hard those would be to set up though.

Perhaps if it was a condition that a detailed description of what was done to improve the image then the multiple upload abusers would not bother.
One resubmission per image, and as part of the 2 images with 10 votes each per day should also be a discouragement.

Do you not think the (hopefully) improved image quality and tutorial content would outweigh the possibility of abuse by those who should know better?

Well, if there was a just "small adjustment or change that tips the balance" there wouldn't be a very detailed description ...
Maybe if that gallery wasn't eligible for contests. That's probably a common reason for reposts.

The only way to know for sure is to try it!
