It is an apparently random rating of images. See this for a hint.

cindex/100=1+e^(-favorites/10)*((downloads/views+2*rating)/3-1)

The c-index is a measure of the success of an image on caedes.net. The c-index score is based on what users vote on the image and also how many users viewed the full size as compared to how many saw the preview. When people add your image to their favorites it also helps the c-index.
So like I said, the c-index is nothing more than a number measure of sucess of an image on this site.

Increasingly though it shouldnt be taken as too accurate a yard stick as the ever increasing volume of images has a nasty habit of very effectively burying many images down the running order of the new images gallery before many people have a chance to see or vote on them without trawling through many, many pages.

I thought it had something to do with alien abduction rates....i.e. more views, the lower the chance of being operated on.

d = v t

d = (3 x 108 m/sec)( 3.05 x 10-13 s) = 9.15 x 10-5 m
