I thought... why not put some additional lines when uploading our photographs. Like: Model: exmpl. NIKON D300S Lence: F11 Aperature: 50 mm Speed: 10/600s ISO: ex.200 Metering: ex. "spot"
Some kind of this so we all can learn one from another. Hope you will think of it.
This would be a great addition! I add for some of my photos' such information to introduction text by hand that I believe would be useful for members.
Exif info is very important and great source for photography but unlikely here most members even don't know what exif is.
A big problem about exif info is some programs used to edit images by default deletes exif info. The most famous culprit is PhotoShop. I don't even mention Windows strategy to take users as idiots and decide for them and delete exif info to 'save' a few kilobytes.
All of my photos have exif info. (If any without, please inform me) I don't use neither Windows nor PhotoShop. Any friend who knows how to adjust PS not to delete exif info should explain others.
Of course some images can't have exif info, such as computer created, so called 'fractals'. Even on this case some embedded info can be found in the image files. A 3D fractal creator of Quat can embed functions used to create it's image.
Here in Caedes, the implementation of exif info can be made visible automatically by reading this info -if exists- from image file or can be added by hand.
Exif info may be part of images when they are uploaded but no images reveal any exif when they are displayed on the site. Am I correct in this? I can not extract any from any images I have randomly tried.
The only way to give it is by typing it in as part of our narrative and those of us who do not know how to format paragraphs and lines in that area end up with a jumble of words with no lines etc.
I think it is an excellent idea to provide the information and wonder if the narrative area could be made to accept paragraphs and spaces as we can in these discussion posts.
My thanks to all who leave comments for my work and to those of you who like one enough to make it a favourite. To touch just one person that way makes each image worthwhile. . . . . . . . . .. . . . "The question is not what you look at, but what you see" ~ Marcel Proust
I do not think EXIF data should be embedded in the images. Many EXIF viewers have the capability of editing the information. In the worst case scenario if ownership issues arose dates and other details could easily be changed by anyone. A specified area for giving the information or simply adding it to the image description would seem a better option, imho

Simply type ... < p > ... without the spaces, in your accompanying narratives ... for a paragraph break, Lyn.
I can not vote for the EXIF idea on the suggestions page however as I have already voted for something else - I would if I could. It would be a bit daft not to vote for my own suggestion ! No one else has ! Perhaps if the suggestions were limited to a lower number per month or week ? Or being able to vote for more than one idea?
