Thinking of our Australian friends in Queensland and hoping they are safe as Cyclone Yasi hits. It sounds like they are in for a really savage battering - and that it has already begun. They have already endured so much with the flooding - and now this !! CLICK

Just reading the latest... looks like it was a bit of a storm in a teacup (so to speak). Quite a few trees down and some roofs off but hardly the cataclysm the TV stations were predicting (hoping?) would happen. They will say anything to get people to watch...
Glad it is downgraded and so far no fatalities. I just had word from a friend in Yepoon saying that 90% of Tully is destroyed and Mission Beach badly hit also. Guess your bananas will increas in price.

They were very lucky it could have been a lot worse considering the size of it.. Tully got hit the worst they lost everything there.. running out of water.. no power.. nothing left of some houses..
