Really that bad? Votes 0 and 1...

Dear All,

I have a shot uploaded some days ago, called 'Alexandria,Egypt'. It received a c-index of 12. I think it is the worst I have ever get for a shot. I could check in the control panel that someone voted zero, others 1 or 2. Why do people do that? It is not a big problem for me...but if anybody would take time to comment on this image, it would be much appreciated. My question: is that really that bad?

Kind regards,

Toto

To be honest, at one level it is simply a picture of a tree and a thin strip of hedge. The palm tress and other elements are quite blurred and you do have to look quite hard to see any beach. It could be thought of as atmospheric, but people on this site like clear crisp images so although 12 might be a little excessive, it is not one of your best pictures by a long way.

Thank you for your comment. I still think giving a zero is more than rude...

Should you should give someone a higher score than you think it's worth just to be "polite" though?

There are several threads around where people are complaining about getting 0's. I get 0's all the time, even on pictures with scores of 60+. It is a common problem.

Thanks for your comments. It is not about politeness...I meant giving a zero means it has absolutely no value...or like a wrong snapshot taken from a fast moving car showing a blurred something what you cannot describe. Yes, I know it is not worth the word. Sometimes people just give a zero enjoying that they can do it...for sure.

I really like the colors in your shot. My suggestion would be to have the palm trees in focus. The fact that they are so prominent in the image and yet blurred is a distraction, imo.

Thank you. The focus point was the olive tree, the palm trees are at least one meter behind.
