I tried uploading a photograph but was told I had to vote on 10 items or the photograph could not be put up to the voting booth. The voting booth is closed and under maintenance. Does this mean we should just wait for it to be over?

I'd say don't wait.

So ... any time-frame for it being available? Is it undergoing a complete overhaul that will dazzle us all once it's unveiled? or just fixing minor issues when you can get around to it?

There are going to be some changes, but I can't tell you when it is be available. It depends on how long the testing takes.

I find it interesting that VB produces significant discussion, and some angst among members, yet, when missing, the number of postings drops significantly. Can't live with it - can't live without it perhaps.

I think there may be some confusion about uploading while the VB is down. I will modify the upload page to make that more clear.

Well it's up & we get to nominate one of our own that we'd like to see voted on ? That's different.

Question: If you decide to remove an image from the VB on the voting booth page, does the score it currently have remain or does it just go back to having no index at all?

The new drop down on the VB page leaves me a little confused. Are you putting one of your own up to be judged by the AC or is it to be voted by the general membership for a new C-index. All of my photographs have been given C-index scores. What kind of images do you see the added drop down to be for?

Nevermind. I figured it out myself.

After all these years, I still can't figure out the voting/index thing...That's why I go by views/d'loads...

I'm not sure where I should ask about the VB image size or if it's already been mentioned above. I'm not sure if this is an issue with my oversized monitor or a change in the VB.

Anyway, in the VB when I click on the image that I'm voting on, the image is far less than full sized. I just voted on what looked to be an average shot and gave it a 5. When I clicked on the shot I had just voted on to see who had posted it and to read the narrative, I viewed the full sized image and determined that it probably deserved as much as an 8.

I gave up on Flickr because the screen size was minimal. I don't think the photos in the VB are getting a fair shake when full screen size is not available.

Anyway, that's my opinion on the matter.

You mean the Dodo, right Cindy? Between my state, North Dakota, and South Dakota, Montana, and a number of other states, we maintain thousands of these animals in pristine wildlife preserves, and there are enough private ranches raising them that buffalo burgers are common here and in surrounding states. I'm not sure about the Dodo bird, extinct since the late 1600's, but I'd bet it tasted like chicken... doesn't everything? 8P

Currently in the (totally accurate and believable, I mean, like totally) Alley Oop comic strip, he and a fellow traveler have journeyed to a duplicate earth that has been hidden on the other side of the sun for billions of years, and they're now exploring. I think that's where the Dodo is. Then again, there's this guy down the hall in my office...
