Query re photo paper for printer

Good morning

Just a quick query - I bought this glossy paper paper for my printer, but on opening it found sides curling up. What would this indicate? (apart from the obvious "that your paper is curling at the edges") It is a real pain in that part of the anatomy when handling and putting in the printer. It still seems to print fine, however.

Perhapse the humidity was too high during storage?

Or, it was the end of the roll and therefore the tightest curl coming off the cutters. Call that customer satisfaction # they always throw in there and try to get a years supply from the company;-)

Good morning

Ah, humidity, that could be it - didn't think of that. And maybe left sitting in the sun. Read the post above, remembered other issues with this particular store, jumped up and had a look at the back of the packet (don't ask why didn't do that before) and read:

"4. When not in use, store sheets flat, in a dry environment, under 40 degrees C and no more than 80% humidity"

We have had other problems with products from this store, we believe due to abysmal handling and storing techniques (don't ask, you will get a litany), so they may have left it in the sun on the dock, and during this part of the year humidity can go as high as 99% (or maybe a tad more). The packet is sealed, but the seal could not be regarded as watertight. If it was left in the sun on the dock, we can be assured that the temperatures in the packaging would have gone way over the 40 degrees and the humidity would have reached it too. At least it is not the paper used for my good prints but for my test prints and other lesser quality work - my good paper is properly sealed.

It could be the curl at the end of the roll too, but having bought this paper and other products from another branch of this same chain without problems, and considering the issues we have had in the past, this possibility is low on my list.

Problem is, there are times when this particular store is the only one we can get too. Will have to plan these purchases ahead a bit better, as I go through a heap of this paper.

Many thanks
