Just wondered if anyone has had any experience of this new rangefinder camera. The demos look wonderful. Just wondering about the cons.

One guy at my camera got one, and he was amazed with it!...Since then, he tells me he is selling his DSLR gear, and keeping the X100

Wow! It's that good? I hear they are hard to acquire and around $2000 because of the earthquake in Japan, but they are starting production again. That he would sell his DSLR equipment really amazes me because I don't think extra lenses for this camera are available and it has a fixed f2.0 aperture and a 23mm focal length.

I read them and I watched the intro video from Fuji and a couple more videos about it on youtube. Haven't heard anything bad yet. And it's only $1199.00 at BH Photo. (If they had one)!

Canon PowerShot G11 vs Fujifilm FinePix X100 - "Score(s)"

Canon PowerShot G11 vs Fujifilm FinePix X100 - "Reasons to consider"

"Snapsort recommends the Fujifilm FinePix X100. This recommendation, however, should be taken with a grain of salt since it doesn't always make sense to compare a pro digicam with a boutique."

Thanks, Les. That was certainly appropo for me, having a G11. I really still like the looks and capabilities of the X100. Who woudn't want more detail and greater image quality? Maybe I should hold out for the camera that gets a score of 218! lol

I see that this website gives much credit to the Nikon D7000. Would have been my pick too had I not had so many Canon accessories. May still switch over one day and lose this Canon 7D unless Canon comes out with something even better that both the Fuji and the Nikon.
