This guy says one thing...I have to say, "Balderdash"...In religion, music, art, books, movies, history, etc...there are hundreds, perhaps thousands of "prophecies"...I don't think we'll know in advance when that day comes...

This is one of the Goth counterpoints...and in my opinion, some of Mr. Camping's output sounds a bit like this individual in history...

As a born again, fundamental Christian who formerly dabbled in "the craft", generally promoted Bacchanalia and having listened to Family Radio sporadically, I'd have to say Mr. Camping has a reasonable grasp of the eschatological timeline. My concern is that he promotes his understanding of the Bible to the point of superceding verses proclaiming "But of that day and hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels of heaven, but my Father only (Matt 24:36, et al.). Having said that, we try always to live our lives prepared, so, if y'all don't hear from me after Saturday, Ciao!

As many people as have ignored that verse and been proven wrong, you'd think they'd be a bit less dogmatic (reminds me of seeing a copy of 88 Reasons Why the Rapture Will Be in 1988 someone gave my dad - it was after 1988 ...).

I agree with Got Questions Ministries on that kind of teaching:
"Harold Camping employs an allegorical method of interpreting Scripture. Because of this method, the meaning of any Scripture passage is purely subjective, subject to the mind and imagination of the person. ... Camping's use of an allegorical method of interpretation for Scripture, and especially for unfulfilled prophecy, is fatally flawed. It undermines the very nature of communication. God gave us His Word to communicate very specific information."

I hope he isn't too disappointed. After all, it's not the end of the world...

The end of the world comes in October. This was supposed to be the Rapture of the Church. Once again, Christianity gets a black eye.

Well i hate to tell him i've been living in hell for years.. drought, fire, floods of epic proportions, cyclones.. yep at least i'll feel at home ;) I think he should be sued for emotional stress to the world

Look! Realistically a job of this size is difficult to organise.
Hic-ups along the way,contractors pulling out unexpectedly plus some of the paperwork hasn't quite gone through as yet.Delays and set backs in an undertaking of these dimensions are inevitable.
Lets be fair and give it a chance.

Apparently he has come out and said he "miscalculated" and it will happen in five months. For reals this time, honest! Forgot to carry the seven I bet.

I'm just thoroughly bummed because I didn't pay my bills figuring I wouldn't need to, you know ? And now I have to. What a gyp.
