i have not payd a dime for anything on my computer
except for the computer itself, dsl, and some blizzard cool games that i got
thats the best thing about the internet is that somewhere, its out there free

so upon finding this site i have been interested in programs to create the pictures
i dowloaded blender and am still bending over backwards trying to find out how to work it
but little by little it is coming

so as i was downloading some music on limewire i was like
self lets see if i can dowload some programs from here
worth a try
so i typed in bryce 5
and it came up !
so now im debating whether to take the rist and download an .exe file off of limewire
(basicaly a kazza ripoff)

my husband actually downloaded a song from one of those filesharing things and he got a virus, sooooo yeah.........we ended up having to totally redo our comp, like wipe out the hard drive and reformat and all that stuff because we couldn't get rid of it.

I say go take the risk... but just think of the consequences.

Yeah. The FBI could supoena my server logs and easily find out who you are/where you live. (yeah, that ought to stop this convo. =) )

I have your ip address logged. I then know what isp you use. The FBI could supoena your ISP and they'd have to tell who was using that IP address when you logged in. They'd be able to easily catch you unless you are surfing the web on a computer you've hacked or from an anonymous terminal.

yeah....the FBI will come after u if ur saring tons of copyrighted stuff, just dont share anything and keep everything in "private" and "protected files". just make shure u dont get any files, i still have trouble from the blaster virus at my comp at home.

so all of you are against file sharing??

not AGAINST it persay, I just don't wish to have everyone who thought they were having a friendly conversation on this website to end up with a huge fine to deal with. I mean, think about it. Try to keep conversations like this private!

wow okay i have used kazaa before i dont use it now though... it didnt really effect the computer though... although about the trogan virus and the worms... i have about 82 virus's on my dads computer and i was just wondering as to what they did to it?

All this stuff about viruses is fairytale stuff. I'm not saying it doesn't happen, just not often.

Surely what we should be discussing is whether it is ethically right to download pirated software, not whether you'll get a virus or not.
