Just a small idea to put to the mods and Caedes....would it be possible to have some sort of border around the works within the authors gallery which have been moved to the permanent galleries, so that we know at a glance, rather than having to scroll through them all?
It could be problematic I guess, but doable surely? This is a personal thing, but I would be interested to know other members feedback on this.
Hmmm....you still have to mouse over all your images though.....and when you have more than a page on 36 to a page...it'll take a while....hence the suggestion.
I think it would be more practical to show the name of the gallery in caedes control. This would also make more sense to me in that you could veiw all the images on one screen, rather than having to go through all the pages of your gallery.
A nice new addition to the control page, thanks. Another idea:
Would it be possible to add a rating column to the Caedes Control page?
Currently, the only way to find out the raw vote rating is to trawl through the Image Rankings. A column on the Control page would be much easier.
Cheers!
I agree, It's great to have an overview... Thanks!!
And I second the rating column, would be interesting to have the difference between ratings and c-index at a glance...
o_O.. my beer of choice is local, so only a couple on here may know what it is.. Regmar would im sure.. Abita Purple Haze.. and trust me.. im not afraid of tasting my beer.. Abita is a nice dark beer, that has flavor.. quite unlike the lousy domestic brews ;)
Damn - now I'm going to have to go to the Alehouse in Truro and take a photo of the poster there to prove I was just quoting from a Hobgoblin advert. And sample a pint or two of the local brews while I'm there... ;-)
I love real ale, we have quite a good festival each year here in Derby (UK) where there are (too) many beers to sample from (hic!). They mostly have colourful names.
Speaking of odd names, I came across some nice wine once called 'Fat Bastard Chardonnay'.

Mmmmm... Abita. Yes Abita's my choice when I'm buying, but my brother brews a meeeeeean set of beers which includes one which is far and away my favorite. "Pee-paw's Pale Ale", "Buddy's Wheat", and a yet-unnamed Stout are beers he brews (and kegs) with a remarkably consistent taste. The local brew-club sneers at his cloudy brews, but the taste is to die for.
I believe all my dreams have come true. Now what do I have to live for? :) Thanks to those who suggested these two updates to the control, and thanks to caedes for implementing them. They make everything so much easier.
Oh my! Abita Purple Haze....haven't had that in ages! Impossible to find here in my part of Florida. Used to drink it often while in school at North Carolina :)
Hehehe- I never thought I would find a discussion page about beer (disguised as a discussion page about the new caedes control, which is nice, by the way).
I'll take my Blue Moon, over your Abita Purple Haze, thank you. Or some of the local brews from Gatlinburg Tennessee...mmm...
Ahh, you're all American. I'll bet your Hobgoblin isn't made by the Wychwood Brewery in Dorset, which will be why you didn't recognise the advert.... Ours is quite a pleasant ale :-)
BTW- "Blackened Voodoo Lager" is my brew of choice. I have wanted to try Arrogant Bastard Ale for several years now, but I have never ran across it here in Florida. I know I can order some online to be shipped, but it would take me years to drink the minimum amount they will ship. :c/
WEll , well, one can always count on men to change the subject and slide a sport or beer topic in! Too bad you can't have''Unibroue''In USA, your shoes would melt if you pee on it!!!Loll!!:0))!!
Hehehe...so true - men and their beer and sports. <takes a swig of Corona> Where is Unibroue made? I've heard of it, I think.
Si- There's actually a pub in Reading (south of London if you haven't heard of it, it's also known as the ghetto of England) called the Hobgoblin. They had some gooood beer.
Unibroue is made in Quebec Canada, it is brewed and distributed here , and it is *like my boyfriend says* a real mens' beer not for lilies loll!As for my I can't even taste it! :0))!
Ahhh...I think my dad mentioned it at one point (he's the real beer connoisseur). Pierre- Belgian Beers are the best?? No way, my friend. German beers are the best. Mmmm...
I think.Belgian Beers are the best.We brew the common pils, like Pierre says, the most excellent stronger beers like Trappist as Chimey,Orval, Grimbergen, Duvel, Leffe, Hoegaarden, which are know all over Europe and the world. What can Germans put against our beers, a simple pils excellent but common. This is my idea.
Pierre: Is Franziskaner considered a trappist brew? I know there is a monk on the label.
As far as Belgian beers go, I'm only familiar with Blue Moon Belgian White (which I like ok), however I was just horified to learn that it is made by Coors. =\
No!!!
To be a Trappist beer, the bottle must have a little golden hexagon with "Authentic Trappist Product". There are only 7 Trappist beers. 6 in Belgium (Westmalle, Chimay, Westvleteren, Rochefort, Orval and Achel) and 1 in the Netherlands (Koningshoeven).
More info here :-)
You have no chance to find them in the USA. But you can choose some belgian abbey beers like the wellknown Leffe, Duvel, Grimbergen, Maredsous, Hoegaerden,...). They are very good too (and very strong...) :-)
Cheers!
Not that you and Joost are biased in any way towards the beer from your home country
:-P I still don't accept that your beer is better than Germany's. You'll just have to send me some for a taste test hee hee :)
We don't really get too much of the realllly good beer here in the U.S. (at least not where I am) because everything has to be imported and is really expensive. Although there are some good microbreweries in the southeast (like the ones in Gatlinburg Tennessee). They make a reallly nice ale called Black Bear.

In consideration to all the minors here on board, could we possibly redirect this thread back to Andrews original question (yeah, remember that one?)? ;-)
I really like the idea of having some type of mark to distinguish the images from the New Images gallery apart from the images from the regular galleries. Perhaps a corner of the s could be faded and written on or something.
