Well I haven’t used it since I found IrfanView a few years ago, which I find very handy for quick n dirty edits that don’t need a real editor and for scrolling though folders of images. Some people swear by ACDsee though. If the people at ACDsee won’t play why not try IrfanView? It’s free, surprisingly powerful for a small package and completely free. You get it from: http://www.irfanview.com

I agree, Robert -- I've been using InfranView for a while now and it is awesome for something free and small. NeatImage is a real treat as well.

Your welcome Verena. The latest version of Irfanview installs an ebay toolbar, just make sure you untick that bit during the install and everything will be hunky dory.

I used to use ACDSee until I switched to Photo Mechanic. I was using version 4.0 (ACDSee), and it was pretty good, but couldn't download cards automatically and was not profile aware.

Photo Mechanic of the other hand is lightning fast, lets me caption my images with ease, displays my Adobe 1998 files properly, “ingests” CF cards with ease, and automatically renames the files . Unfortunately it's not free; however, it's not outrageously expensive. (Compared to, say, Photoshop.)
