I think your rose makes a pleasant desktop. The color is nice. The effect is soft and easy on the eyes. It looks a little blurry, but that might have been the effect you wanted. The left and top edges are a little dark, like maybe a drop shadow effect was done on a layer. Personally, I would try to remove those - they detract a little.
I think your second post was a lot better than your first. So keep up the good work, my friend.
One thing to remember as people critique your work is that YOU are the artist. You choose whether to take or leave the advice given. Don't let our critiques bother you. And we won't feel badly if you choose to ignore our opinion. :)
You're from England? What part? I've never been there, but have always wanted to go. Have a great day.

I like it too, but I do have some advice to go along with it.
It does seem deep, quite deep, and I like that. It is not a normal picture of a flower, in fact, it seems almost like a rendered design. I like the color and the shadowy feel, but most of all the abstract quality to something very much non-abstract.
O the other hand, it seems much too soft in most areas. It appears to have been enlarged beyond what is normal to stretch. There is too little detail to grasp, and little to distinguish what the picture is about. It carries some emotion, but it isn't exactly moving. I reccommend toying with it in a few programs to see what you could make out of it.
I look forward to seeing your future work. Keep uploading!
