I came up with a new game today which uses Google maps. The idea is that you pick an infrequently-encountered subject that would be visible in a satellite photograph and then the players race to find one using Google maps satellite images. It is better in a computer lab where everyone can do it together, but we can try a version of it here. I'll start the first challenge. The winner will have to include a link to the page it is on and a description of where exactly it is in the image (though putting it in the center would be easiest). They can then initiate the next challenge.
Be sure to make the URL into an HTML link so that it doesn't streatch the page out so much.
"A piece of toast with butter always lands butter side down, and a cat always lands on its feet. What happens if a piece of toast is tied butter side down to the back of falling cat? Does it hover above the ground in perpetual indecision?"

When I was a boy of fourteen,
my father was so ignorant I could hardly stand to have the old man around.
But when I got to be twenty one, I was astonished
at how much he had learned in seven years."

Homer: Weaseling out of things is important to learn. It's what separates us from the animals ... except the weasel.

the one i gave is in chad also, some people sure get nitpicky? give them something else, i'll stay out of this for a while, you always got some argument and way to nitpicky for me.
I don't regard challenging an incorrect answer as 'nitpicky'. I would expect anyone to do the same to me. If you have different standards, then fine, but we'll have to disagree.

I asked for someone to find Aorounga and instead you gave me Gweni Fada.
It's an easy mistake for you to make - they're both impact craters and they're both in Chad. I have a perfect right to point out that it was incorrect. I then asked for further clues on the battleship question.

Locate either the infamous O.J. Simpson house (where Kato heard the mysterious "knocking" on his wall), or his wife Nicole's condo (where the dirty deed took place).

Just happened to check my subscriptions and you must have just posted. I've seen Notre Dame before when looking at Paris on the map, so I was able to find it pretty fast. I'll look around for a new challenge.
Edit: In 1958 the Takenaka Corporation completed the building of an impressive tower symbolising Japan's rise as a global economic power. Find it for me, please.

Once you've located your item, click on the 'link' button on the google map page. This refreshes the URL (otherwise it just goes to whatever the previous one was). You can then paste that URL into your link on this forum.
