Approvals the last few days

Hi, apologizing here. I had forgotten that mimi was out of town, and I've been focused on other things in the wake of Sandy. Embarrassed to admit I didn't even think past a FB game I play last night after the trek home from work. Appears the other mods have also been elsewhere and we had another of those unfortunate convergences where nobody was approving the images here.

I'm working on approvals now and should have the log cleared shortly.

We have a number of people in the areas affected by Sandy, like Vanda (Zava) who lives in New Jersey. Although we've had regular contact for a number of months, I haven't heard a peep out of her since Sandy hit. I'm hoping it's just a matter of a power outage for her family but those images on TV are very ominous. Blizzards and tornadoes are common where I live so I know how one's life can be turned upside-down by the weather. With all this going on (and the news and Weather Channel say these folks have a long row to hoe before they're done), we need to be patient for small things like image approval. The mods will get to it when they can--I just learned a little bit ago that one of them was affected adversely by the storm. Let's keep all of them in the danger zone close to heart, shall we? Maybe even make a donation to the Red Cross who are there going door to door to help.

Especially now when there's a nor'easter due to slam into the same region (also Cape Cod, which dodged Sandy) later this week. A lot of help is needed like right now, and if people can't afford monetary help then a lot of prayers and good thoughts will really help. Light a spiritual candle in the wind and rain.

Yeah. Just getting power back isn't enough. Some of my co-workers have power back but still no hot water or heat, as the appliances that provided those have storm/flooding damage. May be up to another week before most of the ones without those get it back, and one woman is looking at a month before her building is habitable again.

Hoping that Vanda and everyone else is okay.

Hey, I just heard from Vanda, many days after Sandy struck New Jersey. She and her family are good, sustaining only minimal damage, but she did lose her mom during all this (November 5) to natural causes, at age 93.

Let's hope the rest of our east coast friends got through okay, too.

As mentioned a number of times before, Caedes has the ability to access the site remotely without having to be necessarily signed in/logged in.

The point is that 'no images' had been approved in over 24 hours and for quite some time after receipt of the PM, so how could he have been approving them? I responded to the PM, but never heard any more. Just thought it rather curious.

Then they must have been in some sort of limbo

It's still not working very well... and either no one except me has posted in three days or no images have been accepted since October 31st, including mine... What IS going on here???

? I had cleared the log within 30 minutes or so of posting this message, and have approved several images since then; as have other mods including *caedes. The pm posted is dated 3 hours after that, so entirely possible that he was on and approving messages after I had.

If new images aren't showing up for you in the new images gallery, I suggest clearing your cache and seeing if that fixes the problem.

"... either no one except me has posted in three days or no images have been accepted since October 31st ..."

That was then, this is now.

And it has been acknowledged by Cat, herself and this thread here that, yes.. at that time (storm Sandy, etc.) ... there were some difficulties in keeping the image approval queue cleared.
