Would it be possible for someone to give a definitive example of how to add a link when posting on this sight?
The example given on the site page is vague and not informative in my opinion, and it all seems rather archaic to me. I think what we need is an example showing how to link using a photo already on the site for one thing, and/or a better explanation.
I'm sure that I am not the only one here that could use help or a better way to link if possible. Not that we use it every day, but I never have been able to get it to work.

It is difficult because if any of us do it exactly, we will create an actual link so we have to 'pretend'.

http://asdf.com is where you paste the link you just copied.


Where you see these words:

asdf.com is where you put your own words like LINK or my friends image. Hope this helps you.

I tried other ways but it created a hyperlink and that would not help you!

Here's another method, given to me by a fellow Caedesian, that works very well:

To put links in comments, commentaries, boards, PM's...

Copy the following line and place it where desired in your text:

<@ href="URL">your words here</@>

Replace both @'s with a lower case a...

Replace "your words here" with whatever word or words you wish...

Copy the URL address from whatever you want linked and replace "URL" with the address... (just the URL, not the quotation marks)

This system I added here was sent to me as a PM from a friend no longer at Caedes. I simply keep that PM at the far end of my PM list and anytime I want to create a link I just go back and copy the line, paste it, then adjust it. Works great.

Hi Larry, like Nik, I too have saved it but in my case, years ago, I saved it in Notepad as a file. Each time I need it, I find the script there.

I use the "sticky note" application in Windows 7 and just keep the sticky notes button on my task bar so that it will pop up right over whatever I'm doing at the time. Sometimes I will use an electronic sticky note to write my whole narrative, then just copy and paste onto the site. I can then just delete the note, but I never delete the (separate) note with the script for making links. Just an idea, I hope it helps!
