Almost 5000 images in the new images gallery - is it time to start sharpening those axes? :-)

Must be! I would think that the larger the gallery grows, the harder it will be to weild that axe. **Prepares herself for the "Where did my image go?!?!" posts**

We will eventually get around to clean it out, but it is not something that you can expect a group of people to do by hand. I plan on using a semi-automated system to decide which images to remove, however I don't have the time right now to program it. They aren't really causing a problem for the site right now anyway.

Same with mine.. I am suprised they have lasted this long.. Oh well.. (sighs)

I thought much was made of the fact that inclusion in the permanent galleries was decided by the mods, not by c-index or other computerised criteria?

Im guessing we are talking about the automated deletion of images that dont get enough votes/views to get a c-index rating at all but i get your point

Many axes would help, but sharpening each one takes a while. The first 5 pages on the Author List might be a good compromise, but if you throw that on them, many will probably either commit scuicide or move to Nebraska.

Sometimes I wish I knew which ones would and wouldn't get into the permenant galleries.. then I could save some people the trouble of deleting them ^.^
