Can anyone recommed a point and shoot camera?

Hi all. I really need help in this matter. My family wants to give me as graduation present a dig camera but I was looking at this one..,

http://www.amazon.com/Canon-Digital-75-300mm-Telephoto-Accessory/dp/B004Q79BIA/ref=wl_it_dp_o_pd_nS_nC?ie=UTF8&colid=2CL2MKMV4XZUV&coliid=I1JQYLZHOCMCJ8

I love the effect that these cameras do with blurriness (focus on 1 subject and then the rest of the image is blurry or vice versa), also the soft, sharp quality the image has.

So since everyone here knows about cameras, I was hopeful that someone may be able to suggest a point and shoot with the same features that my link has. A lot of MB and zoom. I prefer to have something of super quality and less bulky.

Mimi was just providing the link so other members could see the camera you were talking about without having to copy and paste.

The best site I can recommend for camera comparisons is dpreview.com. You should be able to find the sort of information you need there.

DSLR cameras like the one you've linked to are fantastic but they do have drawbacks mainly based on their size and the bulkiness of the accessories. If you want a very good point and shoot, relatively compact camera that has tons of features including x21 optical zoom then you should look at Samsung Galaxy Camera. I have recently been given one and I am very impressed by the quality of the images, the camera features and the fact that it's an android run device like my tablet and phone.

If you want an example of what it can do to get the effect you mentioned see HERE.

The samsung has a very small sensor (1/2.3") and this will reduce the quality of the images you get. I would recommend you go for something with an APS-C sized sensor but in a mirrorless format rather than a SLR. Have a look at the Fuji x-100 or x-E1. These are smallish and have interchangeable lenses. The Sony NEX is a similar class of camera, again with as APS-C sensor, but I cannot vouch for the quality of images.

If you want good bokeh and blurred background, ensure that any camera/lens has a small f stop number. The quality of the bokeh can only be seen by looking at images taken with that camera, so do a google search for it.

If you want some impartial advice on cameras try Ken Rockwell http://www.kenrockwell.com/tech/recommended-cameras.htm. I find his reviews the most complete and honest around.
